How the Turtle Flew

When Lisa climbed onto the back of the turtle in her nightdress one night, asking it to fly, the turtle did.

How did the turtle fly, you might ask?

Well, that part came from Lisa. Lisa, who wanted so desperately to move through the air as slowly as she could and breathe in everything. At midnight, the air was as fresh as could be. And the slowest creature she could ever hope to find was a turtle. But it was her heart that did it. She waited until her heart was as clear as the sky, and her wishing as slow and peaceful and selfless as it had ever been.

It was only then that Lisa asked the turtle to fly.

And that was how the turtle flew; because someone's heart slowed down enough to ask.
