But What if We Didn't?
There are all kinds of stupid. They are easy to find, even if they can be difficult to see. They are found in the conversation that has all the language, without the understanding. They are found in the sameness that expects something different, but never comes. They are found in the excitement that is nothing more than a moment's escape from dull things.
There are steps to finding the stupid.
First, think this thought: but what if we didn't?
Second, take a look around.
You'll see all kinds of stupid then.
All that sameness blistered in expectation that only ever falls flat, but does it again, and again, and again. The impossible hope that everything will be different. As if by magic.
But magic doesn't work that way. Magic is found in the conversation that has all the understanding and only the necessary language. It is found in the strangeness that experiments with expectations and finds them wanting. It is found in the understanding that all quotidian things can be wondrous and uncanny in their own right, if done properly and for their own sake.
There are steps to finding magic.
First, think this thought: but what if we didn't?
Second, take a look around.
You'll see all kinds of magic, then.
